TELEGRAPH

Snitz, one of the former
owners to follow them at the
Stage in Oak Park . . . They
are considered among the
best in the business.
Jack's dream had always
been of owning his own
restaurant . . . He cooked in
the army three years and
worked for Bolotin & Levine
on 12th Street, Boesky's on
Dexter, Nate's on Dexter, and
as a salesman 13 years with
Victor Paint & Wallpaper on
Dexter . . . When Sam Victor
passed on, Harriet's brother,
Harold, and Jack took over
running the company . . . Its
merger with another firm
was the opening Jack needed
to make his move . . . the
chance for that restaurant he
always wanted.
The menu at Stage & Co. is
packed with homemade
delicacies for lunch and din-
ner Tuesday through Satur-
day . . . Health items like the
big-selling egg white omelets,
vegetarian cabbage borscht
and stuffed cabbage, etc., are
large favorites along with
cheese blintzes, regular stuff-
ed cabbage, chicken papri-
kash, chopped liver, matzo
ball soup and a long list of
etceteras . . . plus Jack's own
specialties of salmon patties,
pickled trout and original
soups . . . and Harriet's
bobkas, other desserts, and
gefilte fish among her variety
of choice dishes.
The 30th year celebration
by Stage & Co. in West
Bloomfield is a happy one .. .
So many people have been
satisfied and much has been
attained with gratifying
accomplishment.
Metropolitan Detroit is pro-
ud of laying claim to having
probably the best delicates-
sens in the country . . . Stage
& Co. adds a great dimension
to this pride.
JOAN ORLANDO and
hubby Carl have taken over
management operation of
Ristorante Settebello on
Greenfield south of 11 Mile
. . . The Italian menu from
their popular original Maria's
on Grand River, with pizza,
pasta and veal, has replaced
the previous one at Settebello,
whose name will also soon be
changed to Maria's Kitchen.
IT'S SIGNED and sealed
in cement . . . Matt Prentice's
new Bruschetta of Troy will
be located at the Oakland
Mall on 14 Mile . . . a small
bistro operation with 78 seats
and an entrance from the
outside.
