DEARBORN

Mati's Deli, 1842 Monroe,
Dearborn, 277-3253. How
many restaurants do you know
that make its own cream
cheese? This is indicative of the
homemade cooking by Louis
Weinstein at his Mati's Deli. The
former northwest deli gent who
owns the popular Dearborn deli
makes brownies also along
with a variety of salads, soups,
sandwiches, etc. in the 1926-
built building. (12)

the classic fine dining rooms in
Detroit, Caucus Club enjoys a
premium background from the
days when it was the sister
restaurant of Les Gruber's for-
mer London Chop House across
the street. It is big on culinary
diversity with baked oysters
Rockefeller, beefsteak tartare,
grilled filet of Dover sole, De-
troit baby back embers, etc. (9)

Laffrey's Steak On The
Hearth, 24201 W. 7 Mile Rd.,
Detroit, 538-4688. This isn't just
another restaurant. Constant
repeat customers through the
years have proven so. And Laf-
frey's Steaks On The Hearth isn't
a "johnny-come-lately" either.
It's been around a long time
serving a lot of satisfaction with

6422. Matt Brady's with its two
locations, Birmingham and in-
side the Farmington Hills Holi-
day Inn on Orchard Lake Road
& 12, is widely acclaimed for its
award-winning burgers. Like
the Diamond jim Brady's of yes-
teryears on 7 Mile, many acco-

all affairs from bar mitzvahs to
weddings is a well-groomed
