COLORWORKS STUDIO OF INTERIOR DESIGN

says Rob, now a junior at U-
M, coached and inspired her.
And she hopes to offer the
same inspiration to her
14-year-old sister, Karen. "My
brother taught me how to
throw and how to hit. He
definitely encouraged me to
play softball. When he was a
sophomore at Andover, he
made the varsity team. And
when I was a freshman, it
gave me confidence that it
could happen to me. Now I'm
trying to inspire my sister
because she's got a lot of
potential - she's a great
athlete, so I'm just trying to
help her out."
Ms. LaKritz will study
kinesiology, with an eye
toward a career in sports
medicine, physical therapy or
physical education. In
addition to her four classes,

she works out regularly and
stays busy with dormitory
and sorority activities.
She says it's a hectic
schedule, but one that she's
used to. Her Andover resume
reads like a who's who of high
school students, and includes
numerous academic, athletic
and leadership awards. She
was Phi Beta Kappa, a
National Honor Society vice
president, captain of the
varsity porn-pon squad and a
member of the French club.

And if softball wasn't
enough, Ms. LaKritz was also
on the varsity basketball and
indoor soccer teams. She says
her high school experience
was "very rewarding" and
she hopes to return to the
school some day to help coach
girls' softball. E

IDF Holds
Infiltrators

Tel Aviv (JTA) - Israeli
forces detained two men who
crossed the Jordan River
armed with axes and knives,
apparently intent on attack-
ing Israeli civilians.
Troop reinforcements
tracked down the infiltrators
last week after a routine
army patrol found a break in
the border fence near
Moshav Argaman, in the
Jordan Valley, about five
miles north of the Damiya
bridge.
The two men, ages 21 and
23, were also carrying a set
of wire cutters and copies of
the Koran. The identity of
the group that sent them
was still to be established.
Meanwhile, Israeli planes
flew northward to attack
bases of the Islamic funda-
mentalist terrorist Hez-
bollah, near Ein a-Tine, at
the southern end of the
Syrian-controlled Bekaa
Valley in Lebanon.
The planes returned safely
to base after hitting all their
targets, the Israel Defense
Force spokesman said.
The area experienced
heightened tension at the
end of last month.
