Machon L'Torah and the
Hillel Student Center of
Michigan State University
will hold a special program
titled "Turn Friday Night In-
to Shabbos" 5 p.m. Nov. 20 at
the Hillel in East Lansing.
The event will include a
Shabbat meal followed by a
discussion on The Torah:
God Given? Beyond the
Reasonable Doubt," led by
Rabbi Avraham and Mrs.
Bayla Jacobovitz.

The Hillel Foundation at the
University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, will sponsor the follow-
ing events.
Rashid Khalidi, associate
professor of modern Middle
East history at University of
Chicago; Anton Shammas,
adjunct professor of Near East
studies at the University of
Michigan; and Bernard Yack,
professor of political science
at the University of Wiscon-
sin, Madison, will respond to
Amos Oz's lecture 1:30-4:30
p.m. Nov. 13 at Rackham
Amphitheater.
The Jewish Feminist Group
Shabbat service, potluck din-
ner and discussion will be 5
p.m. Nov. 13 at Hillel. Contact

VIA Hillel, the community
service organization at Hillel,
will prepare and serve dinner
for the homeless. There are
two shifts: 3-5:15 p.m. and

racial, and same sex relation-

Shabbat Potluck open to all
Jewish-identified gay, bisex-

people, who bring a veggie
