Silver, ebony tea infuser

Contemporary tea ware will
be featured at Swidler
Gallery in two exhibitions,
"The Expressive Teapot:
Focus on Function" and
"Sleeping Matters: The Metal
Tea Infuser." Over 130
ceramic teapots from serene
to eccentric, traditional to
social/political by 50 artists
from the U.S., Canada and
Wales will highlight this
year's fourth annual teapot
invitational. The exhibitions
will open Nov. 7 with a recep-
tion for the artists 4-7 p.m.
The teapot show will continue
through Nov. 28 and infuser
exhibition through Dec. 31.
"The Expressive Teapot:
Focus on Function" and
"Sleeping Matters: The Metal
Tea Infuser" include the work
of national and international
artists, as well as some
emerging talent. All pieces,
excluding the historical
Nowell collection, are avail-
able for sale.
Swidler Gallery is located
at 308 West Fourth Street in
the Washington Square Plaza
Building in downtown Royal
Oak. Gallery hours are Tues-
day, Wednesday, Friday,
Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.,
Thursday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and
by appointment. For informa-
