Suzy Farbman Gives
Home Design Tips

CARLA JEAN SCHWARTZ L OCAL COLUMNIS T

T

he Fashion Group
International Detroit
hosted a luncheon and
lecture/slide show
with Suzy Farbman,
design editor of Detroit Mon-
thly. More than 100 hundred
members and guests learned
about home styling tips
through collections from
Mrs. Farbman.
"Suzy's Unifying Prin-
ciples of Display," was a
sheet of paper with
categories for listeners to
take notes on the lecture.
Color, repetition and bal-
ance were some of the topics
she discussed. Mrs. Farbman
also placed tissues on the
tables, so everyone could
drool over the magnificent
homes.
One interesting tip she
mentioned was a homeowner
who put a large amount of
kosher salt in a ceramic bowl
and then placed candles in
the salt for a centerpiece.
"Collections are your ac-
cessories," she said.
Some of the fashionable
people in the crowd included:
Beth Singer, Bluma
Siegal, Shelley Golden,
Maureen Feder, Pat
Rosen, Sandra Lorrence,
Harriet Dunsky, Barbara
Kopitz, Sue Marx, Judy

Frankel, Dottie Gerson,
Ann Brasch, Judy
Verona, Rhonda Verona,
Carol Caminer, Trudy
Foster, Peggy Daitch,
Sherry Haffner and Jo
Anne Nos an.
