Yiddish Program
Set For Moscow

An innovative program of
Yiddish Studies sponsored
jointly by Touro College of
New York and the Foundation
for the Advancement of Yid-
dish Studies of Jerusalem
will commence in Moscow,
Russia, next month.
. The program, which was
conceived by Dr. Bernard
Lander, Touro College presi-
dent, and Professor Gershon
Winer, the chairman of the
Foundation for the Advance-
ment of Yiddish Studies, is
designed to prepare men and
women with intensive train-
ing in classical and modern
Yiddish textual material as
well as Hebraic sources to
serve as Yiddish teachers in
Russia and Israel.
Dr. David Neiman of
Newton, Mass., a Bible
scholar and former president
of the Academy for Higher
Jewish Learning Rabbinical
Seminary, will serve as the
first instructor in the new
Yiddish studies program. Dr.
Neiman will be followed by a
contingent of academicians
and rabbis from Israel and
the United States who will
each devote a month as a
volunteer on the faculty of
this new department within
the Touro College facility in
Moscow.

Support Group

The Hearing Loss Support
Group at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Jewish Community
Center will meet to discuss
issues of concern to adults
with hearing loss.
Marilyn Lewis of the
Michigan Deaf, Hearing and
Speech Center will lead the
class 10 a.m. Nov. 13. For in-
