Economic Forum
Hears Stroud

The Nov. 3 presidential elec-
tion and what to expect over
the next four years will be the
topic of Joe Stroud, editor of
the Detroit Free Press, when
he addresses the Economic
Forum, noon Nov. 9 at the
Radisson Hotel in Southfield.
The gathering is sponsored by
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit.
Editor of the Free Press
since 1973, Mr. Stroud has
been recognized by his peers
and the university communi-
;-, ty numerous times. A
Pulitzer Prize competition
finalist, he has been selected
to receive honorary degrees
from five Michigan colleges,
including the University of
Michigan and Michigan State
University.
The Economic Forum is
sponsored by the Jewish
Federation to promote an in-
terest in its activities among
the business and professional
communities and to discuss
important political, economic
and social issues.
A sign-language interpreter
will be present. There is a
charge for the dairy lun-
cheon, payable at the door.

Rabbi William Gershon of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
will present the second lec-
ture in the series of lunch and
learn lectures co-sponsored by
the B'nai B'rith Michigan
Regional Council, Michigan
Board of Rabbis and the
Midrasha-College of Jewish
Studies, 12:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at
the United Hebrew Schools
building.
Rabbi Gershon will speak
on the topic "God and the
Jewish Tradition." A kosher
lunch will be served at noon.
There is a charge. Par-
ticipants may attend the lec-
ture only.
