Women Set
Annual Institute

Reservations are still being
taken for "The Jewish
Woman Steps Into the 21st
Century," the 45th annual In-
stitute of the Jewish Federa-
tion of Women's Division,
which will be held 7:15 p.m.
Nov. 4 and 9:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Dr. Deborah Lipstadt, direc-
tor of research for the
American Jewish Commit-
tee's Skirball Institute on
American Values and an ad-
junct professor of religion and
Jewish studies at Occidental
College in Los Angeles, will
be the featured speaker.
The theme of the Nov. 4
evening program, which in-
cludes dessert, will be "Com-
ing of Age: How Did We Get
Here and Where Are We Go-
ing?" On Nov. 5, "The Balan-
cing Act: Putting It All
Together . . . Jewish Values in
Today's World" will be
discussed, followed by lunch.
On Nov. 5, babysitting will
be available for children ages
2-1/2 and older, and luncheon
will be served. There is a
charge for each day. For infor-

Michigan ORT
Plans Service

The Michigan Region of
Women's American ORT will
conduct a Havdalah service
7:15 p.m., November 7 at the
Fleischman Home in West
Bloomfield.
Following the service, there
will be a short video presen-
tation highlighting the ORT
program and an Oneg
Shabbat.
Participants in the service

every stage in Metropolitan
Detroit. Ms. Haddow has been
active in the area theater
community for over 40 years.
