Harris-Klein
Mounts Exhibit

O.K. Harris/David Klein
Gallery will display the work
of artists Jef Bourgeau and
Charles Pompilius opening
Nov. 5.
Mr. Bourgeau's exhibition
titled "Renovations" consists
of mixed media constructions,
video, computer imaging, and
found objects. Mr. Pompilius'
paintings are small scale oils
depicting a figure interacting
within an intimate interior.
Mr. Bourgeau juxtaposes
recognizable objects to create
an extremely charged at-
mosphere of gender issues,
social codes, and peitonal
mythologies. In Mr. Porn-
pilius' first exhibition with
the gallery, he has created a
group of work which em-
phasizes traditional realism.
Figures are placed within
familiar interior surroun-
dings — in bedrooms, at win-
dows, or caught reclining
unaware — inviting the
viewer to partake in a
mysterious storytelling.
O.K. Harris/David Klein
Gallery is located at 430
North Woodward, Birm-
ingham. The gallery hours
are Tuesday through Satur-
day, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
