Adat Shalom Synagogue
will offer a four-part series of
classes on "Selected Readings
from Talmudic Literature"
7:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 10, 17
and 24. The classes, taught by
Rabbi Rod Glogower, are of-
fered in conjunction with the
Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies.
Rabbi Glogower is a Hillel
rabbi, lecturer at the Univer-
sity of Michigan Law School,
and 1992-93 Scholar-in-
Residence at the Midrasha.
He will devote each session to
textual study of a selected
talmudic passage. Although
no previous study of Talmud
is required, a reading
knowledge of Hebrew will be
helpful.

Lunch And Learn
Has New Format

The Conservative Move-
ment Lunch and Learn shiur
will continue this fall with a
new format. The group will
meet weekly to informally
discuss Parshat HaShavuah,
the weekly Torah portion
with traditional and contem-
porary commentaries.
This study group is spon-
sored jointly by the Michigan
Region Rabbinical Assembly,
the Jewish Theological
Seminary, and Michigan
Region United Synagogue of
Conservative Judaism.
The study group will meet
12:30 p.m. Thursdays beginn-
ing on Oct. 29 in the first floor
conference area of the Max M.
Fisher building, 6735
Telegraph Road, south of
Maple Road. There is no
charge for the class and a
kosher deli lunch is available
at noon at a charge.
