Sisterhood hosted
more than 400 patrons
at their Oct. 14 lun-
cheon and fashion show by
Jacobson's. The theme
"Hats Off to Fashion" was
cleverly displayed with hat
box centerpieces and real
hats created by Mona
Dembs, Cynthia Lupiloff
and Carolyn Marks.
Many sisterhood com-
mittee members wore hats to
the event including Donna
Phillips, president; Sandra
Stocker, vice president;
Karen Erlich and Marlene
Swarin, donor chairmen.
Some of the other committee
members included: Vicki
Ingber, Marsha
Schaverin, Shirley
Halprin, Roz Levine, Bar-
bara Ben, Barbara Gut-
man, Adrienne Milan,
Marilyn Rubin and Sheila
Schiffer.
The sophisticated fall fash-
ions ranged from lively
sportswear to elegant furs
and evening gowns. Fashion
designer Victor Costa sent
extra ball gowns especially
for the event.

DIA NEWS
Roy Lichtenstein, an ar-
tist who helped launch the
pop art movement in the
'60s, appeared at the open-
ing of the Detroit Institute of
Arts museum shop at the
Somerset Collection. Roz
Fantich, a picture lady at
Ealy School in West Bloom-
field, and Ellen Boorstein
of I. Irving Feldman

Galleries,- came to the event
to have Mr. Lichenstein sign
their posters and books.
Susie Steinberg, Brenda
Friedman, Sandy Schram
and Trudy Wineman, all
DIA supporters, also waited
in line for Mr. Lichtenstein's
signature.
DIA volunteers are also
busy working on the black-
tie gala "Under the Stars
XIII" for Nov. 14. A prelude
patron party will be held on
Oct. 26 at the Michigan Na-
tional Bank headquarters in
Farmington Hills. "The
highlight of the event will be
the live auction of the new
Chrysler Concorde
automobile," said event co-
chair Aviva Robinson.
