Lunch, Learn
Series Opens
J
The Adult Study Commis-
sion of Adat Shalom
Synagogue will open its 1992
lunch and learn series noon
Oct. 30 with a program
featuring Rabbi Avraham
Leaf, who will discuss The
Mission, a panoramic crea-
tion by artist Dubie Arie.
Mr. Arie, a former Israeli
paratrooper and kibbutznik,
was inspired to undertake
this project after Israel's vic-
tory in the battle for
Jerusalem during the Six-
Day War. The painting en-
compasses the history of the
Jewish people from the time
of Abraham until the final
redemption.
Rabbi Leaf, executive direc-
tor of the Art Judaica Educa-
tional Foundation, will
discuss the message of The
Mission and will answer
questions. There is a charge,
which includes a kosher
lunch.
Subsequent events are
scheduled for Dec. 5, Mar. 12
and June 18.
For reservations by Oct. 28,
call the synagogue office,
851-5100.
