D. Speakers will present both
sides of the controversial state
proposal to lower automobile
insurance rates, which is on
the Nov. 3 ballot.
Speakers are William
Cilluffo and Marjory Cohen.
Mr. Cillufo is director of
government relations with
AAA Michigan. Ms. Cohen is
a partner with Mogill, Posner
& Cohen and is president of
the Michigan Trial Lawyers
Association.
A light breakfast will be
provided. There is no charge.

B'nai David Sets
Lecture Series

The B'nai David Institute
for Adult Education will
begin its fall semester with a
lecture series titled "Jewish
Dilemmas in the 90's." A
series of lectures will be given
by Rabbi Morton Yolkut,
spiritual leader of the con-
gregation. A discussion
period and social hour will
follow each lecture.
The initial lecture will be
held 8:15 p.m. Oct. 28 and the
topic will be "Abortion: Is
Traditional Judaism Pro-Life
or Pro-Choice?"
Subsequent lectures are as
follows: Nov. 4 — "Faith After
the Holocaust: How does one
believe in God after Ausch-
witz?," Nov. 11 — "Our House
Divided; Will there by one
Jewish community by the
year 2000?"
The series is free.

Sports Hall
Names Barney

Lem Barney, a member of
the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
has been selected as the 1992
winner of the Alvin Foon
Memorial Award by the
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall
of Fame. The award is
presented each year to an in-
dividual for outstanding con-
tribution to sports and
athletics in the state of
Michigan. Mr. Barney is be-
ing recognized for his consis-
tent contribution to com-
munity and charity events
that he supports on a regular
basis.
The award will be presented
at the eighth annual
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall
of Fame Induction Dinner
