Call 354-6060 USCJ Sets Conference Rabbi Moshe Edelman, newly appointed director of leadership development and associate director of regional and extension activities of United Synagogue of Conser- vative Judaism in New York, will be the keynote speaker and installing officer at a Leadership Conference Nov. 8 at Congregation B'nai Moshe. Rabbi Edelman will lead a workshop focusing on devel- oping leadership qualities. He pioneered efforts to expand synagogue membership and involvement and developed creative programs which resulted in increased obser- vance of mitzvot. A second workshop will be led by four participants from Michigan congregations who have attended the IMUN pro- gram, a training institute for lay leaders. They are Terry Brown of Congregation Beth Shalom, Oak Park; Sidney Pachter of Congregation Ahavas Israel, Grand Rapids; and Leonard Wanetik and Calvin Weiss of Congregation B'nai Moshe, West Bloomfield. The program will end with the installation of regional of- ficers and lunch.
