A TISKET A TASKET
Justin Harvey Morrison,
77, of East Lansing, passed
away Oct. 13. He founded
Charlotte Auto Parts in 1933;
purchased Kamins Auto Parts
-in Lansing in 1965; and was
active in Mid State Automo-
tive Warehouse, which began
in Lansing in 1967.
He was a member and a
past president of East Lans-
ing's Congregation Shaarey
and a past president of
B'nai B'rith of Lansing. He
°was one of the three founders
and the second president of
the Michigan Automotive
Parts Association; a 32nd-
degree Mason and life
member of the Masonic
Order; a member of the
cSaladin Shrine Temple; an ac-
tive member of the Charlotte
Rotary Club for 52 years.
Surviving are his wife,
Esther; children, Linda and
Duane Searles of Englewood,
'Colo., Stuart and Gayle of
East Lansing, Nancy Glass of
West Bloomfield; sister, Ruth
Coffman of South Bend, Ind.;
six grandchildren.
Perry Goldman
Dr. Perry Goldman, 82, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Oct. 9.
Dr. Goldman was originally
in general practice but after
World War II became a der-
matologist. During World
War II, Dr. Goldman was the
oldest man to enlist in his
Slight surgeon class. Earlier
he had served in the civilian
conservation corps as a
volunteer. One of the foun-
ding physicians of Sinai
Hospital of Detroit, he also
was a member of Congrega-
c tion Shaarey Zedek and the
Knollwood Country Club.
He leaves his wife, Mildred;
sons and daughters-in-law,
Dr. Sidney and Deborah of
Birmingham, Leslie Schwartz
cd Farmington Hills, Michael
and Karen Schwartz of Red-
mond, Wash.; brother and
sister-in-law, Dr. Aubrey and
Shirley Goldman of Bloom-
fielld Hills; sister and
brother-in-law, Reva and
c - Harry Ceasar of Hollywood,
Fla.; three grandchildren.
Toba Smokier
Toba Smokler, 80, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 13. She
founded the Smokler Pioneer
°Skills Village at Camp Maas.
A graduate and overseer of
Emerson College in Boston,
Mrs. Smokler taught elocu-
tion and speech for several
years.
She also was active in

Hadassah, the Woman's Aux-
iliary of the United Hebrew
Schools, Sinai Hospital Guild
and the Franklin Hills Coun-
try Club. She was on the
board of the Adult Psychiatric
Clinic.
She leaves a son and
daughter-in-law, Irving and
Carol of Ann Arbor; daughter
and son-in-law, Nora and Guy
Barron of Bloomfield Hills;
brother and sister-in-law,
Mandell and Madge Berman
of Franklin; five grand-
children; special friend,
George Brewer.

sherry
Prepare vanilla pudding according to directions on the package or
make your own pudding using skim milk. Cool.
Before serving, fold in the drained mandarin oranges and the
sherry. Serve in individual glass dishes garnished with the toasted
slivered nuts.

Mr. Wax was president of
DSM Food Products, Inc., a
wholesale bakery supply com-

continued working after his

company.
Mr. Wax graduated from
the University of Michigan
Law School in 1931 and was
a member of the Michigan
Bar Association, the
American Arbitration
Association, past president of
the National Association of
Flour Distributors, member
of the Michigan Bakery Sup-
pliers Association, Michigan
Restaurant Association, Food
Services Executives Associa-
tion and the Detroit Bakery
Club. He was one of the
founders of Keidan Lodge of
B'nai B'rith and member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
He leaves his wife, Rena;
sons and daughters-in-law,
Harvey and Robin of Ann Ar-
bor, David Wax and Marcie
Holtzman of Farmington
Hills; daughter and son-in-
law, Judy and James
Goldwasser of Birmingham;
eight grandchildren.
