JCC Offers
Groups, Classes

The Jewish Community
Center in cooperation with
Sinai Hospital will hold its
next Bereavement Peer Sup-
port Group Oct. 21 for four
weekly meetings. The group,
facilitated by Joanne
Zussman, will meet 1 p.m. in
Room 321 of the Maple-Drake
building. To register or for
further details, call Margo
Weitzer, 661-1000. A newly
developed Bereavement Sup-
port Group will be offered at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Jewish Community Center
beginning 9:30 a.m. Nov. 5.
This group will be facilitated
by Claire Smith, and will run
for eight consecutive weeks.
To register for this group, call
Diane Sands, 967-4030. Both
groups are free of charge.
The JCC offers a Hearing
Loss Support Group 7 p.m.
Oct. 21 at Maple-Drake. The
guest will be Paulette Daniels
of the Michigan Ear Institute,
who will speak on cochlear
implants. A Hearing Loss
Support Group will be offered
10 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris building. John
Waters of Plantronics will
discuss a telephone system to
assist those with hearing loss.

Speech Reading Techniques
will be offered Mondays, Oct.
26-Dec. 14, 2 p.m. at Maple-
Drake. This course will in-
struct adults with hearing
impairments in communica-
tion skills. There is a charge.

fered by the Oakland County
Health Division for adults 18
years and older for $3, 11
a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 2 at Maple-

The Adult Services Depart-
ment will present a current
events discussion group 1 p.m.
Thursdays through Nov. 5 at
Maple-Drake. There is a

County Seeks
Older Volunteers

The Oakland County
Retired Senior Volunteer Pro-
gram (RSVP) seeks
volunteers 60 years and older
to become involved with com-
munity agencies who need
assistance. Varied oppor-
tunities are available
throughout Oakland County.

mileage reimbursement.
