World Food Day
Set For Oct. 15
The Michigan Committee
for World Food Day expects
the sixth annual 7% Solution
for World Food Day campaign
to break the records set last
year for both restaurant par-
ticipation and funds raised.
Last year the campaign,
which raises funds to feed the
hungry in Michigan, raised
more than $20,000 through
more than 200 restaurants.
Participating restaurants
throughout the state will
donate up to seven percent of
Oct. 15 proceeds to feed the
hungry. The funds are
distributed by the Food Bank
Council of Michigan, a net-
work of 13 food banks supply-
ing hundreds of emergency
food providers statewide.
Hundreds of thousands of peo-
ple are helped by these pro-
viders yearly.
Everyone who wishes to
help make the 7% Solution a
success is asked to eat in a
participating restaurant Oct.
15. For a list of participating
restaurants, call
1-800-552-GIVE.
