employed by General
Dynamics.
After honeymooning in
Acapulco, Mexico, the couple
are residing in Farmington

Arthur Avnon is the new
consul general of Israel, ser-
ving the Midwest.
Born in Romania in 1946,
Arthur Avnon immigrated to
Israel in 1950. From
1964-1966 he served in the
Israel Defense Forces. He
received his bachelor's degree
from the Hebrew University
in Jerusalem, and a master's
degree in international rela-
tions from Haifa University.
In 1972, Mr. Avnon joined
the Ministry of Foreign Af-
fairs where he was in charge
of Holland, Belgium and
Switzerland affairs until
1975. At that time he was ap-
pointed Consul in Houston,
Texas, serving the southeast-
ern United States. In 1980, he
returned to Israel to serve as
