appear in concert 3 p.m. Oct.
18 at Temple Beth El. The
concert, part of the "Friends
of Music series, is being co-
sponsored by Temple Beth El
and the Wayne State Univer-
sity Music Department and is
open to the public at no
charge.
Members of the Essex Piano
Trio, Doris Richards, piano;
Geoffrey Applegate, violin;
and Richard Piippo, cello, will
perform selections by Ernest
Bloch, James Lentini and
Bedrich Smetana. The con-
cert will mark the premier
performance of the Lentini
work, Montage, a piece com-
missioned by the trio.
The concert is one of several
given yearly throughout the
metropolitan Detroit area by
Friends of Music, the fund-
raising arm of the Wayne
State University Music
Department. Though there is
no charge, donations are
welcome and the funds will be
used for scholarships for
Wayne State University
music students.
