Judaism, Sharlene Ungar
was elected president to serve
a two-year term.
Mrs. Ungar has been an ac-
tive member of the Michigan
Region Board serving as a
vice president and as chair of
the KOACH, college age
committee.
She has served as a presi-
dent of Michigan Branch
Women's League for Conser-
vative Judaism and is the im-
mediate past president of
Congregation B'nai Moshe in
West Bloomfield.
Other elected officers are
vice presidents, Richard Berg
of Congregation Beth Shalom
in Oak Park; Sue Himelhoch
of Congregation Beth Israel
in Flint; and Larry Rockind of
Adat Shalom Synagogue in
Farmington Hills; secretary,
Sidney Pachter of Congrega-
tion Ahavas Israel in Grand
Rapids; and treasurer, Dottie
Wagner of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.
In addition to the elected of-
ficers, the board consists of
the president and one
representative from each of
the 14 member-congregations
in the region.
The officers and board will
be installed at a regional
Leadership Conference
scheduled for Nov. 8 at Con-
gregation B'nai Moshe. Rab-
bi Moshe Edelman, director of
leadership development,
United Synagogue of Conser-
vative Judaism in New York,
will be the speaker and in-
stalling officer.
