Erte Show
At Park West

Park West Gallery will
celebrate the 100th Anniver-
sary of Erte, the 20th-century
grand master of graphic
design and creator of art deco
fashion illustration.
Park West's exhibition and
sale will feature Erte's
famous fashion illustrations,
among other works which in-
clude serigraphs, paintings,
sculptures and jewelry from
the artist's estate, through
Oct. 20.
Erte's fashion prints and
theatrical set designs ex-
hibited the characteristic
swooping curves set off by
geometric motifs, clear defini-
tion and vibrant colors that
epitomized the luxuriant art
deco style. His compositions
were at the forefront of the
modernistic trend, expressing
the dynamism of the 20th
century.
Erte produced illustrations,
sculpture, jewelry and works
in various media throughout
his life.
Park West Gallery, 29469
Northwestern Highway, is
open to the public from 10
a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through
Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday and Friday, and 11
a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and
Sunday. For information, call
the Gallery, 354-2343.
