paign '92" will be the focus of
a dinner meeting of the
Jewish Federation Business
and Professional Women's
Division, 6 p.m. Oct. 14 at the
Townsend Hotel in
Birmingham.
Moderated by Laura Ber 2
man, columnist for the
Detroit News, the gathering
will feature presentations on
women's issues in the
presidential campaign by
Deborah Dingell of the
Michigan Democratic Party'
and Ronna Romney, a
member of Gov. John Engler's
transition team on policy.
An elected officer of the
Michigan Democratic Party,
Ms. Dingell is recognized as a
community and civic leader
in Washington, D.C., and
Michigan.
Ms. Dingell is a national ad-
vocate for women and child-
ren's health issues and chairs
the Michigan Infant Mortali-
ty Task Force and Washing-,,
ton's Women's Health Re-
source Center.
Ms. Romney was named one
of Michigan's most influential
women by the Detroit News
and Crain's Business Week.
Since 1989, she has chaired
the President's Commission
on White House Fellowship
and serves as political consul-
tant for WXYZ-TV 7 Action
News '92 Presidential Cam-
paign coverage.
The dinner meeting is be-`
ing organized by Marlene
Myers and Shelley Nadiv,
chairpersons, with Judge
Helene White, who chairs the
B & P programming commit-
tee, and Dorie Shwedel,
associate chairperson.

gathering; there will be no

Congregation Shir Tikvah's
Dial a Shofar will be
available to anyone in the
community who would like to
hear the sounds of the shofar
during Rosh Hashanah and
Yom Kippur.
By dialing 643-6520, listen-
ers will be able to hear a
2-minute tape featuring the
sounds of a Moroccan, a
Yemenite and an Ashkenazic
shofar as well as a short
greeting from Rabbi
Sleutelberg.
Dial a Shofar will be
available beginning Sunday,
Sept. 27, and will conclude
Sept. 29 for Rosh Hashanah.
