Plight of Ethiopians
is Program Topic
"Faith and Survival," the
plight of Ethiopia's Jews, will
A be presented by Dr. Ted and
Peggy Myers at a brunch on
behalf of the Allied Jewish
campaign, 9:15 a.m. Oct. 9,
at the home of Susan and
Norman Pappas.
The gathering, which is
open to Campaign con-
tributors of $1,800 or more to
the Campaign, is sponsored
by the Pre-Campaign Section
of the Jewish Federation
Women's Division.
Dr. Myers has worked with
the American Association for
Ethiopian Jews and the
American Jewish Joint
Distribution Committee
(JDC) to bring medical relief
_ to the displaced and ill in
Ethiopia. Since 1981, his
trips have taken him to the
villages in northern Ethiopia,
the refugee camps of Sudan
and, most recently, Addis
Ababa.
For "Faith and Survival,"
Mrs. Myers recorded on film
Ted and Peggy Myers
the plight of Ethiopia's Jews
during a brief period before
their exodus to Israel. At the
meeting, she will show slides
from the photographic exhibi-
tion, which is touring the
country.
Deena Canvasser is chair-
man of the Pre-Campaign
Steering Committee, and
Paula Glazier is associate
chairman. Linda Z. Klein is
Women's Division Campaign
chairman, and Diane Klein is
president.
For reservations by Oct. 1 or
for information, call Sally
Krugel, 642-4260.
