WHY YOUR PARTY PLANS SHOULD INCLUDE LS. certain lingo," says Mr. Margulies. "We're familiar with each lother's world and sound." Mr. Margulies' world was a comfortable one when he was a kid. His father, "the youngest of an immigrant family and the only one in the family without an ac- bent," was a lawyer, "a real good-looking, classy guy." His parents introduced Mr. Margulies to theater at an early age. The Pirates of Penzance stole his heart when he was just a toddler. "But it was seeing Shaw's Arms and the Man when I was 13 that, more than anything, confirmed my love for theater," says David , Margulies. Mr. Margulies has loved it ever since. And if producers , love to cast him in Jewish parts — the actor has ap- peared in a number of such roles, although far from ex- clusively —that's life, says Mr. Margulies, whose credits include a pair of Chaim Potok one-acts staged two years ago at the Philadelphia Festival Theatre for New Plays. "Ethnicity is destiny," he says with a sigh. - But it isn't his way to com- plain. "Thank God I get hese Jewish parts so I can make a living," he says. -: .And while Zaretsky's claim to fame is a 12-minute rendition of The Dybbuk, Mr. Margulies is not bothered by demons in any shape or form. "Life," says the contented actor, "has been very good to me." ❑ Jack and Gary Cochran and The Staff Of Beau jacks Food & Spirits Artwork created by Sandra Levin of Farmington Hills Will be on display at the Our Town Art Exhibition and Sale at the Community House in Birmingham.
