One of our biggest sellers is Italian-style business suits, while the rise in the number of tie sales has been staggering." Polgat's sales to major foreign companies like Marks & Spencer in the United Kingdom, and Peek and Clap- penberg,- Dyekhoff and Saks 5th Avenue in the United States brought in $107 million last year alone. And sales of men's clothing in Israel reached an un- precedented $187 million in 1991. Tel Aviv businessman, Avi Hirschfeld, is particularly pleased to have a wider choice of clothes. "For many years I would travel abroad and see beautiful clothes and wonder why such styles weren't available here. I felt almost embarrassed to bring back light-colored trousers and jackets.
