While some would like to believe that prejudice no longer exists
in the world, it is something that is very much with us every
day. Over the last three years, anti-Semitic acts have risen 72%
on college campuses. For this reason, Stanley R.Jaffe and I have
made a movie entitled "School Ties".

In our film, David Greene is recruited to be the star quarterback
at an elite New England prep school. After he forms friendships
with young men from families of wealth and renown, these bonds
are tested when Greene's religious identity is revealed. Having
attempted to deny and hide his faith, David finds that his friends
have turned against him after discovering he is Jewish.

"School Ties" shows how irrational prejudice is — that it is
based on nothing more than fear and ignorance. It also argues
that you must never, ever deny what or who you are. You can't
allow a lie of omission.
