"Diabetes: You May Have It
And Not Know It," an infor-
mational workshop about
older onset diabetes, will be
offered noon-3:30 p.m. Sept.
14 at the Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris Jewish Community
Center.
Speakers will include Dr.
Solomon I. Rosenblatt, speak-
ing about Type II diabetes
and preventative foot care;
and Dr. Sander J. Paul, who
will present lectures on nutri-
tion and drug therapy.
Theresa Fulgenzie, JPM
physical education director,
will demonstrate an easy ex-
ercise program.
Informational exhibits will
feature services and products
for older adults. Blood sugar
testing will be available at 2
p.m.
This program is sponsored
in cooperation with the
American Diabetes Associa-
tion. For information, call
Diane Sands, 967-4030. There
is no charge.

The Jewish Community
Center will host Lila Green,
humor educator, speaker and
writer, 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the
Maple-Drake building.
Ms. Green will speak on
"Humor in Everyday Life .. .
Those Who Last — Laugh."
This program is free and open
to the public.
The Adult Services Depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center will offer a
canasta class, featuring four
two-hour sessions for begin-
ners and reviewers beginning
9:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 24 at
Maple-Drake. The other
classes will be Oct. 1, 8, 15.

Introduction to Folkdance
—the basics of Israeli and in-
ternational folkdance in five
1-hour sessions on Tuesdays
10-11 a.m. The sessions con-
tinue Sept. 15 and 22, Oct. 27
and Nov. 3. You may register
for the five-week series or pay
a drop-in fee.
Fitness through Folkdance
— a class for those with
previous folkdance experience
in five 1-1/2 hour sessions on
Tuesdays 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The sessions continue Sept.
15 and 22, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3.

week series or pay a drop-in

Opera-tunities — will bring
opera to life in four 2-hour
sessions Wednesdays 7-9 p.m.
