Women In Politics
Is Luncheon Topic

The empowerment of
women in politics will be ex-
amined at the opening paid-
up membership luncheon of

Sisterhood noon Sept. 21 at
the temple. The luncheon will
feature a panel discussion, "Is
This Really The Year of the

powerment group which lob-
bies and educates legislatures

nection between the still ex-
cessive military budget and
the unmet social and en-
vironmental needs of this
nation.
Serving on the panel with
Ms. Victor will be Elizabeth
Howe, former director of the
Michigan Department of
Labor and candidate for
Oakland County Executive,

"The Double Standard."

magistrate and candidate for
the 47th District Court
judgeship. The third panel
member, Harriet Rotter, an
attorney, TV commentator
and lecturer, will speak on
"The Threat From the Far
Right."
The luncheon is open
without charge to paid-up
Sisterhood members. There is
a charge for non-members
and guests. For reservations
by Sept. 14 or further infor-
mation, call Lynne Yoffee,
