Book Shop (Novi) in honor of
Banned Books Week, a na-
tional celebration of the
freedom to read. The pro-
gram, called Sunday Salon, is

Borders Novi, a series of in-
store programs and events for
adult and family audiences.

Writing Series

Poet Teresa Tan will in-
troduce "Writing From Life,"
a series of six hands-on ses-
sions designed to guide
writers and those who think
they could be writers at the
Bloomfield Township Public
Library.
"Writing From Life" is open
to residents and non-
residents. No registration is
required. The series will be
held Thursdays, Sept. 10-Oct.
15, 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the
Bloomfield Township Public
Library.
Session 1 will be "Taking
the Puzzle Out of Poetry" on
Sept. 10. Session 2 will be
"Find Yourself on Paper:
Writing for Self Discovery" on
Sept. 17.
Session 3 is "Through the
Magic Window: Altering Our
Perception with Writing" on
Sept. 24. Session 4's topic is
"Clustering: A Simple
Writing Method to Boost
Creativity" on Oct. 1. Session
5 will deal with "Diamonds
from the Daily Grind: Use Or-
dinary Life to Inspire Your
Writing" on Oct. 8. Session 6
will be "Right-brain Writing
and the Visual Arts" on Oct.
