Parents who play games, work and exercise regularly with their kids can teach 10 them that physical activity is fun and a natural part of life. Simple ideas: Put family ac- tivities on your calendar two or three times per week. It doesn't always have to be an organized sport. It could be taking a walk around the • neighborhood, gardening, raking leaves, riding a bike, , going to the zoo or skating. Also, pick activities that in- clude all ages. Avoid competi- tion. Involve the whole fami- P ly in planning and choosing physical activities. Design your own family games. Keep a log of what you've done 0. together. Poor nutrition leads to health problems.
