language lecture the second
Tuesday of each month 3 p.m.
at the Jimmy Prentis Morris
building. The focus will be on
Russian authors and the
presenter is Asia Levin.
Weekly drop-in contract
bridge sessions will be offered
at the JPM Tuesdays .-
12:30-3:00 p.m. Supplies will
be provided; light refresh-
ments will be served. There is
a charge.
The Mothers Club meets s _ <,
noon Tuesday for bingo. Pro-
ceeds from the games go to
support children's charities in
Israel.
Enrichment classes and
classes for high school credits
are available at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris building in
cooperation with Fern-
dale/Oak Park Adult Educa-
tion. Courses in comparative
religion, Jewish geography,
painting and drawing and
personal growth are being of-
fered this fall.
Registration will be taken
Sept. 8-14. Classes begin
Sept. 14. For information on

Senior Adult Centersz
Offering Classes
The Southfield Senior
Adult Center offers a wide
variety of classes geared to
the senior citizen.
Physical fitness is a concern
of all age groups. Chair Exer-
cise offers moderate exercise
set to music. For those who
enjoy a more strenuous pro- c_
gram, exercise/dance fitness
50+ may be the answer.
Another alternative is the
water exercise class, offered at
Southfield High School.
Bridge, for all levels, and
Spanish classes as well as
Jewish and world history will
be offered.
In the art department,
classes in watercolor, drawing
and acrylics are offered. An
open art studio is available --
for artistic students of all
ability levels. Three-
dimensional art is made in
greenware and handbuilt
ceramics classes.
The adult choir, The Silver-
tones, practices each Tuesday
afternoon. The handbell
choir, the Southfield Chimes
Choir, offers performance op-
portunities to anyone who can
read music.
Registration begins Sept. 2
with classes beginning the,
week of Oct. 6. Call the
