Group of the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center
will present Ethel Levine
Krause, photographer, 1 p.m.
Sept. 2 in the Allen Lounge,
as she narrates slides of her
trip to Africa. There is a
charge for non-members.
The Adult Services Depart-
ment of the Maple-Drake JCC
will sponsor the following
classes:
Dr. Maximillian Kelin will
bring opera to life in four two-
hour sessions of "Opera-
tunities," Wednesday even-
ings at 7 p.m., beginning
Sept. 9. Participants will view
full-length, English-subtitled
operas and learn about the
composer, the historical and
social circumstances. Reser-
vations are required; there is
a maximum enrollment of 35
people. This class is co-
sponsored by the Cultural
Arts, Adult Services and
Singles departments. A drop-
in fee is available.
Joan Williams will teach
the basics of Israeli and inter-
national folkdance in five
one-hour sessions of "In-
troduction to Folkdance"
Tuesdays beginning Sept. 8 at
10:00 a.m. in Room 150. Drop-
in fees are available.

teach "Fitness Through
Folkdance" in five 1 1/2-hour
sessions Tuesdays beginning
Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. in Room
150. Drop-in fees are

The purpose of the group is
to offer mutual and social con-
tact to the senior residents of
Southfield. It meets 1 p.m.
every fourth Wednesday at
the Senior Adult Center. The
