The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies will co-
sponsor courses in September
for the fall semester.
Beginners Hebrew Reading
and Advanced Beginners
Hebrew will be offered in
cooperation with Congrega-
tion Shir Tikvah. The courses
will be taught by Naomi
Blumenberg for nine weeks
on Sundays, 9:30-10:45 a.m.
beginning Sept. 13. The Ad-
vanced Beginners Hebrew
class will meet 11 a.m.-12:15
p.m. The courses will be held
at Costello Elementary
School, 1333 Hamman Road,
Troy.
A course will be offered in
cooperation with Temple Shir
Shalom titled "Hands on
Holidays," beginning Sept.
20. Students will learn the
meaning of each holiday, its
roots, traditions and customs.
It will be taught by Susie
Rosenzveig for six weeks
10-11:30 a.m. in the gym of
Doherty Elementary School,
3575 Walnut Lake Road, West
Bloomfield.
The courses are open to the
entire community. There is a

The Midrasha will offer
courses designed for Hebrew
school teachers and for
students interested in receiv-
ing Midrasha credit toward
Hebrew teacher certification.
"Hebrew Teachers' Think
Tank — Theories, Techniques,
and Tricks for Teaching
Hebrew as a Foreign
Language," will be taught by
Nira Lev for four weeks 7-9
p.m.-beginning Sept. 17. This
course will present various
theories and techniques
relating to the Hebrew
language and the challenges
it presents to the teacher.
"Hebrew Readiness: A
Rainbow of Ideas" will be
taught byltita Abramson and
will focus on the development
of techniques in teaching
Hebrew to the pre-schooler
and kindergarten child. It
will meet for four weeks
7:30-9:30 p.m. beginning Oct.

"Torah L'Shma for
Educators: Selected Readings
from Talmudic Literature"
will be taught by Rabbi Rod
Glogower. This course is
designed for educators who
want to study Talmud for
their own personal growth.
Although no previous study of
Talmud is required, a reading
knowledge of Hebrew is
helpful. It will meet for four
weeks 7:30-9 p.m. beginning . 0

The courses will meet at the
United Hebrew Schools Sig-
mund and Sophie Rohlik
Building.

held Sunday through Thurs-
day, mornings, afternoons
and evenings. Hebrew in-
