JCC Plans
C Fall Classes

Israeli Folk Dancing for
children will start at the Jim-
my Prentis Morris and
Maple-Drake buildings of the
Jewish Community Center
this September.
Other children's dance
classes offered by the Dance
Division are all levels of
creative, jazz, tap and ballet.
An offering to pre-teens and
teens is pre-bat/bar mitzvah
"street" dance classes for 6th-
-, and 7th-grade boys and girls.
The Dance Division will of-
fer a semester of a variety of
adult dance classes. Evening
classes to start in September
are Mid-Eastern belly dance,
tap, ballroom, Israeli, ballet
and jazz. Day dance classes
I are modern, tap, festival and
Tuesday Troupers.
Children and Adult Theater
classes will be given by the
Nancy Gurwin Musical
Theater Program. Instruction
will be in voice, stage move-
ment, auditioning. For the

serious adult student of the

non-musical stage, acting
workshops are offered by
Evelyn Orbach, artistic direc-
tor of the Jewish Ensemble
Theater.
The JCC Chess Club will
resume activities 7 p.m. Sept.
10 in the library of the Maple-
Drake JCC. Classes in chess
will start 6-7 p.m. Sept. 10,
prior to the start of the club.
Sylvester Robes is the in-
structor and the facilitator of
the chess activities.
The fall semester bridge
) classes and club activities
will start in September. There
will be morning and evening
classes for all levels of bridge
expertise. Willie Winokur
will instruct classes and
direct the novice bridge club.
Computer classes in basic
programming and word pro-
cessing will be given at
Maple-Drake. These are for
the student starting to learn
the language of computers.
A potpourri of art called "A
Taste of Art" will be held 7:30
p.m., Sept. 10 at Maple-Drake
JCC. There is a fee for two
hours of workshops in
tapestry, ceramics, watercolor,
„ charcoal drawing and knit-
ting. All of these will be of-
fered as classes in the fall
semester at the JCC.
