Noting that only 0.3 per-
cent of the national budget
goes toward sports activities
and facilities, Baruch
Dagon, spokesman for the
Sports Federation, expressed
hope that the government
may now be more generous
in its funding.
"We need more money to
train our athletes, on both
the lower and higher levels,"
he said. "But one way or the

other, we'll be in Atlanta for
the next Olympics, and we'll
be ready."
Among those hoping to be
in Atlanta in 1996 is 12-
year-old Mofaz from
Jerusalem. Sitting in a
▪ burger restaurant with his
family, Mofaz said he hopes
to be an Olympic-caliber
gymnast. "I train four times
a week, and my dream is to
be in the Olympics," he said.
"Yael and Oren are my
heroes."
