A phonathon will take
place through Aug. 9 at the
Lubavitch Foundation. In-
stead of seeking pledges of
cash, it will ask Jewish corn-
munity members to pledge a
mitzvah. In keeping with the
Jewish tradition of doing a
good deed when a loved one is
ill, all mitzvot pledged will be
in honor of the Lubavitcher
Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M.

Schneerson, for a speedy
recovery from his recent
stroke.
The phonathon, under the
auspices of Lubavitch of
Michigan, is part of a na-
tional campaign by Chabad
Lubavitch.
People who would like to
volunteer to make calls are
encouraged to call Chabad,
542-5087.
