Sybaris Exhibits
New Artists

Sale

The Sybaris Gallery's sum-
mer show will highlight new
gallery artists through Aug.
29.
Taylor Bradley graduated
from Cranbrook Academy of
Art. His work is based on
forms abstracted from nature
and expressed as enclosures.
Some pieces emphasize the
external surface of the
enclosure.
Daniel Eaves also is a
graduate of Cranbrook
Academy of Art. He received
his degree in metaismithing.
His work continues to be
focused in two areas. One is
the exploration of the en-
hancement of common ob-
jects. These have been most-
ly, but not limited to, home
appliances such as juicers,
auto-drip coffee makers and
hair blowers. The second area
focuses on the rural South.
The work celebrates and me-
morializes the culture and
people of this unique section
of the United States.
Karen Sullivan is in-
terested in found objects. Ms.
Sullivan constructs architec-
tonic boxes out of clay and
fills them with ceramic ob-
jects that she has found in
flea markets and garage
sales. Her main interest is in
establishing an interactive
communication between the
found and the personally
created. Karen Sullivan gra-
duated from the Claremont
Graduate School in Clare-
mont, Calif., where she
studied with ceramic artist
Philip Cornelius.
