Family Fun Day
Set For Aug. 16
The Ron Coden Show will
be featured in concert
2:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 16 as part
of the Neighborhood Project's
Family Fun Day in South-
field's Inglenook Park on 12
Mile Rd. between Evergreen
and Lahser roads.
The three-piece Coden band
plays contemporary folk,
country and popular music.
Refreshments will be
available.
A puppet show will lead off
the afternoon, which also will
feature pony rides, clowns
and a face painter.
The afternoon also will
feature a softball game be-
tween the staff of The Jewish
News and the Maccabi Soft-
ball team.
The Family Fun Day is
sponsored by the Neighbor-
hood Project, in cooperation
with the City of Southfield
and The Jewish News in
celebration of its 50th
anniversary.

Melody Musicale will pre-
sent a program of Hebrew,
Yiddish and English songs
plus musical comedy and
opera 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at the
home of Louise Lazarus, 4836
Faircourt Dr., West Bloom-
field.
Participants include Louise
Lazarus, musical director and
lyric soprano; Sidney Miller,
tenor; Clarence Sharp, bari-
tone; Zelda Miller, pianist-
accompanist; Dr. Donald Ki-
tain, Lisa and Shelly Kitain,
pianists; Evelyn Berger and
Sadie Braver, violinists;
Veronica, Levi, Ilya, Adelle
and Vitaly Kozadayev, flute
and pianists. Ruth Handel-
man will be the narrator.
A dairy dinner will follow
the concert. There is a charge.

Sun Bowl. The Sun Bowl, an
