wants to take his
talents to the cam-
paign trail.
Mr. Stern, 24, just finished
recording a 4 1/2-minute
rhythm/blues song, "Smoke
In Mirrors." The lyrics of the
tune remind him of an ex-
pression that Democratic
presidential candidate Bill
Clinton has used to describe
President George Bush.
"This is not about Clin-
ton," Mr. Stern says. "It is
about Bush . . . I think Clin-
ton would love the song if he
got to hear it. Besides, I'm a
big Clinton supporter. I
would love him to use it dur-
ing the campaign."

West Bloomfield Chamber
of Commerce president and
developer Herman Frankel
wants everyone in West
Bloomfield to get out and
vote on Tuesday.

But the two-page, neatly
printed letter bearing the
names of Jewish community
heavy hitters Paul Borman,
Max M. Fisher, Edward C.
Levy Jr. and Joel D. Tauber
is not seeking funds for Jew-
ish causes.
In fact, the letter, mailed
in the past few weeks to
members of the Jewish
community, is a fund-raising
letter on behalf of 11th Con-
gressional candidate Dave
Honigman, who is Jewish.
The letter assures readers
that Mr. Honigman is a solid
supporter of Israel's future.
Yet it also implies that other
candidates in the running,
including another Jewish
candidate, Alice Gilbert,
would not support Israel.
