The artworks in this exhibi- tion originate in Gambia, Ghana, Niberia, Zaire, Tan- zania, Kenya and South Africa. The sculpture in- ' eludes small wood and ivory " figures along with gold-leafed sword pommels and elabo- rately carved royal standards. The jewelry ranges from trade beads to patterned beads of horn made by the Kikuyu people of Kenya. The textiles include embroidery in palm fiber, velour, weaving = and beadwork.
