Elisheva and Malka, both Akiva students, don't mind reading books with Jewish themes. "If they're fun to read and interesting, we want to read them," Elisheva said. Barry read a book recently that he hopes Bais Chabad can get. It is called The Dev- il's Arithmetic and is about a boy who travels back through time during his family Passover Seder. "If I had a choice between a normal book or one with Jewish content, I'd pick the Jewish one," Barry said. Rabbi Silberberg said the library at Bais Chabad has prompted many people to find out more about Judaism. "It has changed people's lives," he said. "We have peo- ple taking out between seven and nine cassette tapes at one time. They listen to Torah tapes on the way to work." The rabbi said Chabad be- lieves in elevating instru- ments like the TV and radio. "There is nothing wrong with the TV, only what you watch on it," Rabbi Silberberg said. "We encourage people to use the technology available to them for holy purposes." ❑ I LOCAL NEWS 25784 Middlebelt Road (Mid-Eleven Center) Farmington Hills, MI 48018 477-4753 Invitations • Accessories Personal • Commercial Stationery Everything to Enhance Any Occasion PERSONALIZED SERVICE AVAILABLE IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME 96 4°i 91witatimo ALL AT A 25% DISCOUNT (313) 569-6477 Edie Arbit A.
