OPERA NIGHT AT

Baldwin Library
July Programs

The Baldwin Public Library
will continue programming
with its Read! Rock! and Rap!
series for children.
"Interactive Storytelling
Workshop" will be 10:30-
11:30 a.m. July 21. Children
and adults can participate in
an interactive story-telling
workshop featuring flannel,
-paper and puppet stories.
"Read, Rock, Rap and Sing"
will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. July
28 for preschool through 2nd
grade. Brenda McDonald will
present a participation pro-
gram with puppets.
"Guitar Sing-Along" will be
held 2:30-3:00 p.m. July 22.
Families are welcome to join
guitarist Mike Wise.
"Summer Reading Finale"
is set for 10:30-11:30 a.m. Ju-
ly 29 for preschool through
2nd grade; third grade and up
2:00-3:00 p.m.
"Sock Hop" will take place
2:30-3:30 p.m. July 23 for 3rd
grade and up. Prizes will be
awarded to the jazziest
costumes. Refreshments will
be served.
The Baldwin Dinner
Theatre will present
Dulcimer Days 7-8 p.m. July
23. Wanda Degen, singer and
multi-instrumentalist, will
perform. Families are invited
to bring a picnic basket and
blanket. Refreshments will be
served.

Host Concert

Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra Hall and WDIV-TV
Channel 4 will present a
benefit concert for Children's
Hospital of Michigan titled
"Cheers for Children" 3:30
p.m. July 26 at Orchestra
Hall.
Kelsey Grammer of
"Cheers" will narrate Pro-
kofiev's Peter and the Wolf as
well as lead the DSO in a per-
formance of Sousa's march
"The Stars and Stripes
Forever."
