Birmingham Artist
Mounts Exhibit

The Coffee Exchange in
Downtown Birmingham, 112
S. Woodward, will present
"Pastels in Motion," an ex-
hibit by Robert Dempster,
local Birmingham artist
through August.
Mr. Dempster's style of bold
outlines and vibrant. colors is
reminiscent of Matisse. Mr.
Dempster's subjects of coffee-
house chairs, whimsical '50s
memorabilia and life's in-
sights are inspired by his
travels to Sedona, Ariz.; Cap-
tiva, Fla.; and Northern
Michigan. Additional works
are displayed at the Galerie
870 on Bowers Street — the
artist's combined studio and
gallery.
