Harry Becker, usinessman Harry Becker, former troiter of Palm Beach, Fla., ied June 29. He was 93. Mr. Becker headed the arry Becker Company, the argest tomato distributor in he United States, until his etirement in 1975. Maxmen, sychiatrist, Author Jerrold S. Maxmen, former troiter of Manhattan, died une 28. He was 50. Dr. Maxmen was an ssociate professor of sychiatry at Columbia niversity. He was the uthor of several books on sychiatryi. He was recipient of a Na- tional Fund for Medical Education Fellowship and a Distinguished Psychiatrist Lectureship from the Ameri- can Psychiatric Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary B.; parents, Dr. Harold and Ethel Maxmen of South- field; brother and sister-in- law, Dr. Robert and Dr. Toby Steinberg of Longmeadow, Mass. David D. Silverman, Businessman David D. Silverman, of Oak Park, died June 21. He was 72. Mr. Silverman was owner of Dave's Party Store in Oak Park and recently retired from the furniture business. He was a founding member of Beth Shalom and served as president of the Men's Club. He was a member of the Oak Park Police Auxiliary for 30 years and retired with the rank of lieutenant. He also was active in Big Brothers. He leaves his wife, Eileen; daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Dr. Jeffrey London of West Bloomfield, and Judith and Brad Lang of Huntington Woods; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Louis Kay of West Bloomfield; five grandchildren. Jerome Kelman, Longtime Attorney Jerome Kelman, of Southfield, died June 24. He was 69. Mr. Kelman was an at- torney in practice in Detroit for more than 50 years. He was a member of the law firm of Kelman, Loria, Downing, Schneider and Simpson. A graduate of Wayne State University, Mr. Kelman was the former chairman of the Workers Compensation Sec- tion - State Bar of Michigan and was instrumental in writing workmen's compen- sation laws for the state. He served on the board of direc- tors of the Hebrew Benevolent Society and its legal committee, on the board of the Hebrew Free Loan, and was a member of Young Israel of Southfield and Young Israel of Oak- Woods. A national vice president for Young Israel, Mr. Kelman was active at Akiva Hebrew Day School and Yeshiva Beth Yehudah. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; sons and daughters- in-law, Dr. Alan and Shain- dy of Baltimore, Md., Dr. Samuel H. of Brooklyn, N.Y., Dr. Robert and Carolyn of New York; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Herbert and Jean of Kew Gardens, N.Y., Sidney and Bonnie of Jerusalem; three grandchildren.
