In Franklin Shopping Plaza State families are needed to host European teens who will begin arriving here July 1. These students want to spend time in Michigan experienc- ing American style living. Families need not speak a foreign language to host since the students have studied English four to eight years and want to practice it. Evelyn and Julian Prince of West Bloomfield, state coor- dinators of Nacel Cultural Exchanges, a non-profit organization, are particular- ly looking for three Jewish families to host three girls from France. Scheduled to arrive on Ju- ly 1 and leave on July 30, Benedicte Ghanassia, a 15-year-old Parisian girl, en- joys sports, reading, videogames, museums and movies. Her family consists of a 19-year-old brother, her father who is a cardiologist, and her mother, who works with him as a medical assistant. Emmanuelle Singer, a 17-year-old girl from Strasbourg, is the oldest of three children. Emmanuelle will be here July 31-Aug. 28. Her father is a gynecologist and her mother is a psychologist. Marion Gelbert, age 18 from Paris, wants to spend the 1992-93 academic year with a Jewish family. She is the youngest of three children. She enjoys gymnastics, swim- ming, shopping, photography, movies, music, concerts and museums. Her father has a clothing store, and her mother manages a publishing house. The students bring pocket money, and their parents pay their transportation and in- surance. Some host families take their guests on trips; others share their everyday lifestyle. The Princes care- fully match host families and students according to their in- terests and activities. Families interested in hosting one of the Jewish girls or another student from France, Spain or Germany should phone Evelyn and Julian Prince, 626-6641. 1 Hidden Children will hold a meeting 10 a.m. June 28 at the home of Erna Gorman. For information, call Ms. Gorman, 626-0385. C
