Service Award
Nominations Open

Nominations are being ac-
cepted for the fifth annual
Berman Award for Out-
standing Professional Service.
Created by Mandell L. and
Madeleine H. Berman, the
award will go to a Jewish
communal professional em-
ployed by the Jewish Federa-
tion of Metropolitan Detroit
or one of its constituent
agencies.
The award, which will be
presented at the August
meeting of Federation's board
of governors, is intended to
promote and reward extraor-
dinary professional service.
The Bermans established the
award through the Federated
Endowment Fund of the
Jewish Federation.
Nominees for the Berman
Award must have worked in
the Detroit Jewish communi-
ty a minimum of five years.
They must have demon-
strated the highest profes-
sional standards in their
chosen field, made a contribu-
tion to the general good of the
Jewish community and
demonstrated leadership and
innovation in the profession.

Nominees also must have ap-
plied creativity, dedication,
knowledge and care to pro-
viding services to the
community.
Noininations for the Ber-
man Award may be submitted
by letter to the selection com-
mittee no later than July 10.
A committee of lay leaders
and professional colleagues
will select the award winner.
