his 80th birthday . . .
celebrated at Kingsley Inn
with party for friends and
relatives by his wife Molly.
YEMENITE JEW was 75
years old and wanted life in-
surance . . . The broker, not
realizing Yemenite Jews are

a life insurance policy?" .. .

LOOKING BACK .
July 22, 1955 . . . "In

Baltimore recently, at one of
the night ballgames she at-
tended while visiting there,
Ann Gelman remembered
that she had a letter in her
purse that should have been
mailed . . . Ann waited until
she saw a nice-looking, well-
groomed man arise, as if to
leave the game . . . "Would
you mind dropping this in the
mailbox as you go out?" Ann
asked . . . He bowed slightly,
smiled and graciously said he
would be only too happy to
serve her in mailing the let-
ter . . . Nearby, after he had
passed, Ann heard a fellow
remark for her benefit that
she had given the letter to the
right man . . . He was Arthur
Summerfield, of Flint,
postmaster general of the
United States."
March 26, 1971 . . . "Sally
is a cute little tot in the
neighborhood and always
tries hard to be mother's
helper . . . But last week her
well-meaning desire sort of
backfired on the household
. . . When mother Roslyn
Shelman (Ray's wife) return-
ed from shopping, little Sally
thought she'd sort of surprise
her by washing the canned
goods and removing the
labels . . . She did! . . . And
when Roslyn reprimanded
her Sally replied, 'But you
told daddy over the phone
that we were going to eat out
of the can and I wanted them
to be nice and clean!' . . . Sal-
ly is 4 years old."
