The 25th anniversary year officially kicked off on May 11, at the conclusion of Israel's 44th Independence Day celebrations, with a; ceremony at the president's ' residence. The Israel Festival, whit began May 16 and continue through June 6, is a thre week extravaganza of theater dance and musical perfo mances from Israel a), abroad, including a recital by flautist James Galway, a Bach marathon, a concert by the Alexandrov Red Army I) Choir, and a selection of _/ jazz.
