You should avoid foods high in
cholesterol. It's a fact, a high
blood cholesterol level sub-
stantially increases your
chances of developing heart
disease. By cutting down on
fatty, rich foods, you can do
yourself a big favor. You could
lower your blood cholesterol
level and reduce your risk of
heart disease.

planned and balanced diet,

plan a diet good for life.

SISTERHOOD
HOORAY
Congregation Beth
Shalom held its 36th
sisterhood donor luncheon,
"Hooray for Sisterhood," on
May 14 with 190 patrons.
Celebrity photographer
Linda Solomon was the
guest speaker. Ms. Solomon
is a spokesperson for the
camera industry. In addition
to taking celebrity
photographs, she is working ,
on a project teaching chil-
dren how to express them-
selves with a camera. Some
of the children's work will be
on display at the Birm-
ingham Camera Shop May
21-30.
Not only did Marcia Abel
and Lynn Rich co-chair
the event, but they made the
centerpieces for the
Hollywood theme. Everyone
commented on the unique
centerpieces, which
resembled movie projectors.
The donor committee also
included: Helen Herman,
president; Bernice Gil, door
prize chairman; Madelyn
Liss, boutique chairman.
Lynn Rich and Marcia Abel.
The luncheon honored all
of the sisterhood past presi-
dents. Alicia Nelson hosted
the candlelighting, while
Ida Rosenblum, the first
sisterhood president, spoke.
The presidents past and pre-
sent from 1952-1992 include:
Ida Rosenblum, the late
Millie Goldman, Hilda
Koiner, Marj Paul,
Dorothy Fishman, Harriet
Gallen, Evelyn Israel,
Thelma Kopel, Ada Efros,
Bea Moss, Eleanor Factor,
